Eton Manor heads towards the finish line

Striking blue tennis courts and the temporary seating for 10,500 spectators are being installed at Eton Manor, the Olympic Park’s Wheelchair Tennis venue.

Etom ManorConstruction progresses at Eton Manor
Eton Manor is one of the last venues to be completed on the Olympic Park, with construction work starting on site just over 18 months ago.

During the Games, the venue will provide temporary aquatic training facilities including three Olympic-size swimming pools, a synchronised swimming pool and a water polo pool. The temporary Games-time pools will be moved after London 2012, with potential users including schools, universities and local communities around the country.

John Armitt, Chairman of the ODA, said: ‘A huge amount has been achieved since the start of construction only 18 months ago with work progressing on all elements of the Eton Manor project.

'It is encouraging to see this world-class Paralympic venue and important legacy facilities taking shape with the venue firmly on track to be completed on time and within budget.’
