Seb Coe listens to a workshop session with a group of local job seekersInspiring employment
At a jobs brokerage session in Greenwich, Seb met local people who were learning about upcoming opportunities related to the Games. The session, which was organised by the South East London Chamber of Commerce (SELCC), was attended by clients from across the boroughs of Greenwich, Lewisham, Bromley and Bexley.
Over the next 13 months, LOCOG will be creating thousands of jobs and
encouraging sponsors and contractors to support local employment
opportunities.
Seb Coe said: 'We have a challenging year ahead as we bring to life and test all the Games-time operational plans that have been developed and fine tuned over the last five years. Employing people with the right skills sets to help us with this work, coupled with an understanding of the area we are operating in is a win-win. I hope the residents I met today consider working with us.'

Inspiring education
The LOCOG Chair also visited Eastlea Community School in Newham today to see how young people in one of the six Host Boroughs are being inspired by the Games.
During his visit, Seb took part in a Q&A session with students and the Young Mayor of Newham and saw a sports demonstration by the school’s Sports Leadership students.
In recognition of the great work the school has been doing to inspire its students about the Games, Seb presented them with the Get Set network plaque – an acknowledgment of the school entering the Get Set network, London 2012’s domestic education programme.
