TUC General Secretary Brendan Barber, LOCOG Chair Sebastian Coe and Acas Chair Ed Sweeney sign the agreement at Congress House. The protocol will cover all staff working on site during the 2012 Games, including the 70,000 volunteers that LOCOG is recruiting throughout 2011.
LOCOG Chair Seb Coe said: 'Smooth and stable industrial relations are vital for any major event, and will be even more so for the complex task of staging the world’s largest sporting events.
'We have always enjoyed great support from the trade union movement since the very beginning of the bid, and today’s signing of the protocol with the TUC and Acas is a natural next step, underpinning our joint commitment for London 2012 and providing a clear mechanism for the timely and effective resolution of any problems that may arise.'
