In partnership with Panasonic and with funding from the National Lottery, Film Nation: Shorts launched in March 2010 and invites 14-25 year olds to create short films that celebrate the Values of the Olympic and Paralympic Games: respect, courage, excellence, friendship, equality, determination and inspiration.
The project gives budding film makers the chance to get their work showcased at the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Peace One Day founder Jeremy Gilley and ambassador Jude Law have teamed up with London 2012 to launch a new strand to the competition, where young people are encouraged to make short films inspired by the theme of 'Truce'.
Whether a short film about young peoples' own experiences of a truce with friends or family, how a truce has inspired them or made a difference to their lives, or what a global truce in 2012 would mean to them personally, London 2012 with Peace One Day are looking for films with inspiring stories.
Jude Law said: 'Today, on World Peace Day, we're delighted to be working with the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad to issue a call to action for young people to change the world through creativity and the power of film. Peace One Day is already working with young people across the world, and our collaboration with London 2012 is a great opportunity to engage with young people in a creative way.'
