Pupils from Heathcote School visit the Olympic Park.
Pupils got the opportunity to witness first-hand the progress of work on the Olympic Park, where the Olympic and Paralympic Games will be hosted in 2012. As part of the tour they saw the major venues under construction by the Olympic Delivery Authority, including the Olympic Stadium, Aquatics Centre, Velodrome and Handball Arena, and learnt about the environmental and community programmes running on the Park.
Seb Coe, Chair of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, said: ‘I’m delighted these students won the opportunity to visit the London 2012 Olympic Park after they were successful in the prize draw available to Get Set schools and colleges. I hope they were inspired to return and continue their work on the great Olympic and Paralympic projects in the London 2012 education programme.’
