Workshop uses drama sessions to communicate the importance of health and safety near construction sitesFollowing the success of last year’s programme, which involved more than 3,000 students, the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) will hold workshops in 40 schools from the five Host Boroughs around the Park over the next eight weeks.
Interactive drama sessions are used to communicate the importance of staying safe when living and going to school near construction sites.
The start of this year’s scheme coincides with the European Week for Safety and Health at Work, which will see a programme of activity for workers across the Olympic Park including workshops, personal safety briefings and health campaigns.
The ODA’s Head of Health and Safety Lawrence Waterman said:‘We want every worker on the Olympic Park site to leave safe and well at the end of every single day, but we also have to make sure that local children who play and live in the area understand the potential dangers of a construction site.’
