Olympic gold medallist Paul Manning on the velodrome site to see the launch of the new webcamThe webcam will show updated images of the Velodrome throughout the day. It is the latest webcam overlooking different venues across the Olympic Park that enables the public to see progress on site for themselves.
The Velodrome site was visited this week by Paul Manning, gold medallist in the Team Pursuit at the Beijing 2008 Games. Paul said: ‘Winning gold and being part of such a successful team in Beijing was an amazing experience, so it was great to visit the London 2012 Velodrome site where I hope Team GB will continue to hit gold in 2012. I was hugely impressed by the progress that has already been made on site and the new webcam will be a great way to see the Velodrome continue to take shape.’
The Velodrome will host the indoor Track Cycling during the Games. A BMX Circuit will be built next to the Velodrome to host the BMX events during the Olympic Games. Together they will form the London 2012 VeloPark.
After the Games, a Road Cycle circuit and Mountain Bike course will be added to the VeloPark to create a cycling hub for all ages and abilities.
