Work continues on the mezzanine entrance at Stratford Regional StationWork to install two new lifts and widen platforms has already been completed. Progress on the new mezzanine entrance which is helping to increase the capacity of the station and improve passenger interchange between lines is well underway. It will be the biggest visible change to the front of the station, and will allow people leaving the Park to bypass the subways and use a new bridge to directly access the new Central line and DLR platforms for services towards London.
ODA Transport Director Hugh Sumner said: ‘The new pictures we have released today showing the progress at Stratford Station will give people a sense of what is going on behind the scenes. Stratford Station will be completed as early as 2010 – which means that the benefits will be felt two years before the Games start.’
