Free talks on Olympic Park finds

The Museum of London is giving local residents a flavour of their Olympic Park archaeological discoveries at a series of free public talks this winter.

Finds included four prehistoric skeletons buried in graves around an area of Iron Age settlement, a Roman coin, Roman river walls, Second World War gun emplacements and a complete 19th-century boat used for hunting wild fowl on the lower River Lea.

The talks are taking place across the five Host Boroughs (Hackney, Newham, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest and Greenwich).

The events are part of the ‘discover’ programme launched earlier this year. They are free and tickets can be booked on 0203 2012 235.

The MoL led on the archaeological dig which took place up until the start of construction earlier this year.
