Calling all South West sporting heroes

The team involved in maximising the benefits of the Games in the region are also looking for former national and international-level competitors to provide inspiration for up-and-coming athletes.

Guy Lavender, the South West's director for the Games said: 'We want to involve all our sporting heroes no matter what their age, to join us to secure a lasting legacy for the 2012 Games and help motivate and inspire a new generation of athletes to success in the Olympic and Paralympic Games.'
