London a 'great opportunity' for Paralympic Games

IPC Chair Xavier Gonzalez said: "We are pleased with the progress made by London 2012. Having these discussions at this early stage helps to build a common understanding of the Paralympic project and clarifies expectations.

"We really see the Paralympic Games in London as a great opportunity to further develop Paralympic sports and to position the Games as a distinctive and attractive event for the public, sponsors and media alike. London 2012 has shown its commitment to achieve that."

At the meeting, organising committee and IPC staff talked about the accessibility of Paralympic venues and the Paralympic Village, and made a review of key functions and projects such as marketing, finance, culture, education and Games legacy.

The next project review is scheduled to be held in March 2008.
