First meeting for Sports Advisory Group

Meeting quarterly, the group will give advice and recommendations to London 2012 organisers on issues including the Olympic Village, competition schedules and pre-Games training camps and the sporting legacy of the Games.

Chaired by Olympic medallist Jonathan Edwards, the group is made up of key members from the world of sport, including the Chief Executives of the British Olympic Committee, British Paralympic Committee and UK sport, as well as Dame Tanni Grey Thompson (Vice Chair), Ade Adepitan and Tim Henman.

Jonathan Edwards said: "The Olympic Games and Paralympic Games are the greatest sporting events in the world.

"We must make sure that the London Games will be the best sporting experience for athletes and spectators alike and the Sport Advisory Group will make a vital contribution."
