It was the first visit of a Games Organising Committee Chief Executive to the IPC's headquarters.

Paul and his team received updates from Director of Sport David Grevemberg, Director of Games Operations Arno Wolter and other IPC team members.

Paul Deighton commented: "We learned a lot from our visit to the IPC and we are committed to ensuring that the London 2012 Paralympic Games have the same impact as the Olympic Games.

"It was very informative to hear about the IPC's plans to promote Paralympic sport, and their fundraising and marketing plans. Spending a day with them really increased our understanding of some of the complex issues involved.

"The IPC have just gone through a re-think and evaluation of their Paralympic brand and London 2012 is going through a similar exercise, so it was very useful to share experiences and ideas.

"We look forward to working more closely with the IPC in the run-up to 2012."
