The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) today launched a new eTendering and planning service to help businesses compete for up to 2000 Games contracts.

The ground-breaking website allows businesses to tender for the contracts online – the first time such large scale procurement has been done in this way.

Main contractors will also be listed on the site, helping small and medium size businesses to tender for sub-contracts.

A new 'Future Opportunities' section of the London 2012 website also allows businesses to prepare for the main contracts before they are posted on the eTendering site.

ODA Chief Executive David Higgins said: "The London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games can be a showcase for world class business as well as sporting performance.

"We want to ensure businesses can see the opportunities in advance so they can prepare to bid.

"We also want to make the contracting process straightforward, consistent and simple."
