Cycling boost for London

The 2km cycle circuit at Hog Hill, Redbridge, will replace the nearby Eastway Cycle Circuit, which is being transformed into the Velopark and BMX track for 2012.

Hog Hill was chosen to replace Eastway Cycle Circuit after over a year of wide consultation and meetings.

Manny Lewis, Chief Executive of the London Development Agency, said: "This is great news for Redbridge and cyclists across London.

"The Hog Hill complex will be a superb provision for amateur and professional cyclists alike, while at the same time encouraging others to pick up a bike and enjoy the outdoors.

"As the 2012 Games get closer it is essential that we improve the health of Londoners by stimulating people’s sporting imagination."
