CricInfo founder joins 2012

The co-founder and Chair of one of the world's biggest sports websites, CricInfo.com, has joined London 2012 as Head of New Media.

Alex Balfour will be responsible for London2012.com, as well as leading the development of digital technologies for the 2012 Games - including online and mobile phone.

He said: "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to deliver the first truly digital summer Olympic and Paralympic Games and harness the power of the Internet and new technologies to build digital communities around a unique brand."
