The Draft Sustainability Principles Report shows how the ODA will deliver on their parts of the recently published London 2012 Sustainability Policy.

The ODA report is based on twelve sustainability principles consulted on during the planning application for the Olympic Park in 2004.

ODA contractors will be expected to demonstrate how they will meet these objectives through their proposals, and will be monitored by the ODA and its Delivery Partner.

David Higgins, ODA Chief Executive said: "Today we are publishing our high level Sustainability Principles, which will be followed next year by a detailed Sustainability Strategy.

"We want to deliver the Olympic Park site in the most sustainable way possible. The ODA will work collaboratively with industry, using its influence and purchasing power, to encourage and enable the delivery of economically, socially and environmentally responsible Games.

"We need to ensure a sustainable and lasting legacy for the Lower Lea Valley, London and the UK."
