The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has released an official statement regarding the Stratford City Development.
An ODA spokesperson said: "This announcement does not put delivery of the Olympic project under threat in any way.
"On 25 April we announced that the ODA now owns the freehold of the Stratford City lands.
"This cements the key safeguard for the Olympic Village and other facilities on the Stratford site.
"We have been undertaking contingency planning in recent weeks in case the differences within the Stratford Consortium do not resolve themselves.
"So ODA and London and Continental Railways (LCR) consultants will continue to progress planning and design issues of the Olympic facilities and the other Stratford mixed use proposals to ensure the overall delivery programme is maintained.
"The ODA will be working closely with LCR as it considers development team options.
"We remain confident that the Olympic facilities on the Stratford site will be completed in good time for the Games and that costs will not increase should there be any change of private developer."
The ODA has issued this reaction to the decision by LCR, announced today, to commence the procedure to terminate its contract with Stratford City Developments Ltd (SCDL).
LCR has been working with SCDL to deliver Stratford City, a major development adjacent to the Olympic Park in East London which is due to deliver some Olympic facilities including the Village.
