Two international stars from Leicester City have provided a personal endorsement of the club's support for London 2012.
Greek international Nikos Dabizas and Australian Socceroo Danny Tiatto have both seen first-hand the impact of hosting the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games in their home country.
Dabizas, who was a key part of the Greek team who triumphed at last summer's European Championships, said: "Coupled with our success in the European football championships, the Athens Games made it one of the most memorable years in the history of Greek sport.
The defender, twice a Greek league winner with Athens-based Olympiakos, has experienced the UK's unrivalled passion for sport over a number of years.
"I have played my club football with Newcastle and Leicester in England for more than seven years," he said. "I am sure that London would be a fantastic place to host the 2012 Games."
Dabizas and Tiatto were joined by veteran Leicester star Dion Dublin as the Foxes launched their campaign to support London 2012.
Leicester's Chief Operating Officer Paul Mace said: "The football club is pledging its full support to the campaign to bring the Games to London in 2012.
"Our management, staff and players are fully committed to London winning a race which will have a major boost for the whole of our country."
Steve Humphries, Sports Marketing Manager of Leicester City Council, added: "The city has a rich sporting heritage and it's great news that Leicester City FC have taken this opportunity to get behind the bid.
"As the clock counts down to decision day on July 6, every ounce of support is vital to show the International Olympic Committee that the UK is really passionate about the Games coming to London."
