The contract to monitor and track delivery vehicles travelling to and within the Olympic Park has been awarded.

The contract includes providing a system to manage construction vehicles in and around the Park. Its aim is to reduce congestion in the local area and allow the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) to forecast future transport movements.

ODA Director of Construction Howard Shiplee said: ‘Reducing the impact of our construction work on the environment is very important to the ODA. We have a target of delivering 50 per cent of materials (by weight) to the Olympic Park by rail or water. However, where this is not possible, we are putting systems in place to reduce the impact of delivery vehicles on local roads.’

The contract has been awarded to Logica.
