Teams will be able to prepare for the London 2012 Paralympic Games in facilities across the UK

Over 170 sporting facilities from around the UK will feature in London 2012's Pre-Games Training Camp Guide for Paralympic sports.

The high-class facilities were announced today, identified as suitable for teams from abroad who want to acclimatise and train in the UK before the 2012 Games.

The announcement followed a careful selection process, taking into account factors including accessibility and standards of accommodation. National Governing Bodies of Sport and the British Paralympic Association were among those advising on suitability.

The London 2012 Pre-Games Training Camp Guide will be available from the Beijing Games this summer. An online guide developed alongside Visit Britain will showcase each of the facilities as well as the attractions of each region.

The list of facilities for the Olympic Games Training Camps Guide was published in March.

Tessa Jowell, Minister responsible for the Olympic and Paralympic Games, said: 'I am pleased we have so many facilities across the UK that can serve as training camps ahead of the Paralympic Games. This country has one of the finest Paralympic teams in the world; and an unwavering support of sport for disabled people.

'I have no doubt that foreign teams will be impressed with the choices and opportunities they have to train here, and that’s good news not only for our sporting infrastructure, but for the legacy from the Games.'
