People living near the Olympic Park are being encouraged to attend consultation events for the proposed International Broadcast Centre/Main Press Centre (IBC/MPC).

The events are an opportunity for local people to view plans for the venue that will accommodate around 20,000 members of the media and broadcasters during the Games.

In 2012 the IBC/MPC will have state-of-the-art facilities. It will also contain a 1,300-space multi-storey car park, studio tower with panoramic views, security area and bus drop-off area.

After the Games the venue will be converted into 120,000 square metres of office space, helping to bring opportunities into the area.

ODA Chief Executive David Higgins said: ‘During the Games the IBC/MPC will play an important role in communicating the Olympic and Paralympic Games to around four billion people across the world. This consultation is a useful opportunity for Hackney residents to find out more about the plans for the media centre and provide us with feedback.’
