The contract to design a group of venues in the north of the Olympic Park has been awarded.
Stanton Williams will transform the former community sports centre in Eton Manor, disused since 2001, to provide a range of sporting facilities during the Games.
During the Olympic Games the site will provide temporary training facilities for Gymnastic and Aquatic competitors. The site will host Paralympic Archery and Wheelchair Tennis during the Paralympic Games.
After the Games the site will provide a variety of sporting venues including a Hockey Stadium an indoor Tennis centre and a five-a-side Football venue.
Chairman of the Olympic Delivery Autority John Armitt said: ‘The Eton Manor site is steeped in sporting history and we want to recapture this and regenerate the area with well designed, world-class facilities fit for the Olympic and Paralympic stage.’
