IPC Chief Executive Xavier Gonzalez President Sir Philip Craven and meet Seb Coe and LOCOG Head of Paralympic Planning Tony Sainsbury

Sebastian Coe has spoken about the huge potential the Paralympic Games can offer commercial partners at a recent visit to the International Paralympic Committee.

Seb was the first Chair of an Organising Committee to visit the IPC headquarters.

He spoke about the untapped potential of the Paralympic Games:

'LOCOG has recently conducted some market research which shows that 69 per cent of people in the UK want to see more coverage of the Paralympic Games. This shows an appetite and an understanding in the UK market, where the BBC and others have already done a lot to generate knowledge – there was 98 per cent awareness of the Paralympic Games in the audience we surveyed.

'Sponsors throughout the world should think about the unparalleled opportunities getting involved in the Paralympic Games can bring. The Paralympic Games make for a compelling and credible human story of challenge and achievement that everyone can relate to. Involvement in the Games can demonstrate an organisation’s commitment to the development of elite sport as well as demonstrating social responsibility.'

Seb met IPC President Sir Philip Craven and Chief Executive Xavier Gonzalez as well as other senior officials during his two-day visit to the headquarters in Bonn. He also met with Tanni Grey-Thompson and the other newly appointed International Paralympic Ambassadors.
