Atos Origin is the Worldwide Information Technology (IT) Partner for the Paralympic Games following an agreement signed with the International Paralympic Committee (IPC).
The company will develop a system for athletes’ data, including results, biographical and classification specific information.
The deal, signed earlier this week at the Sports Training Centre for Disabled Chinese Athletes in Beijing, enables Atos to increase its Paralympic marketing rights worldwide. It covers the Beijing 2008, Vancouver 2010 and the London 2012 Games.
Atos Origin is already the Worldwide IT Partner for the International Olympic Committee and will provide similar services for the Olympic Games.
IPC President Sir Philip Craven said: 'We heartily welcome Atos Origin to become the Worldwide Partner of the IPC. The Paralympic Games provide a stage for all athletes with a disability to demonstrate their strong spirit of meeting challenges as well as inspire and excite the world with their performances.
'The solution to be provided by Atos Origin shall help the IPC grow and offer better services to its members, National Paralympic Committees, athletes and competition organisers.'
