The Olympic Park will be opened up for London Open House weekend

London 2012 is offering tours around the Olympic Park during the London Open House Weekend on 15 and 16 September.

On one weekend every year buildings and spaces across London are opened up for the general public to view and experience.

In the Olympic Park, guided bus tours will give people the opportunity to see how clearance and demolition has got underway since the land was handed over to the Olympic Delivery Authority just over a month ago.

This tour, and future visits, will give local people the chance to watch the transformation of the area close up, as the ODA demolishes more than 250 buildings, removes 52 power pylons and cleans up over 1.4 million tonnes of contaminated soil.

Bus tours will depart every 30 minutes from 1pm Saturday 15 and all day Sunday 16 September from the SCORE Complex on Oliver Road in Leyton.

Places must be booked in advance by calling 0203 023 6056.

In addition to the tours, an exhibition at the SCORE Complex will feature sporting activities and information on the plans for the Olympic Park.
