Opportunity to walk away with new ODA contract

19 September 2007

Greenway

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) is looking for the right company to take on the task of regenerating and constructing the ‘Greenway’ - the major public walkway running through the heart of the Olympic Park.

The previously underused path is to become a main access route for walking and cycling during and after the Games and is key to regenerating the neglected public spaces in and around the Park..

Kath Markey, Olympic Delivery Authority project sponsor for the Greenway project said: ‘Adams and Sutherland architects have been working on an innovative re-design of the route which will incorporate recycled materials recovered from other pars of the Olympic Park site, a key part to our commitment to sustainability.’

The Greenway will re-connect Newham, Tower Hamlets and Hackney with the main access route, helping achieve our aim of a public transport Games.
