There was a full sunshine welcome yesterday as the specially-branded 2012 Roadshow double decker bus hit the beaches of Cornwall.
Beach volleyball champion Denise Austen got visitors to ‘join in’ by trying a new sport during taster sessions run by Sport England. Volleyball, Basketball, Trampolining and Football were just some of the other sports on offer, with representatives advising budding sports stars about clubs and facilities in their local area.
The Dream Stats Zone also proved popular as everyone got the chance to try out the Dream Stats calculator which works out which sport you are best suited to according to your physical attributes and preferences.
Sport England South West Regional Director Jim Clarke said: ‘Our ambition is to get two million people participating more in sport by 2012. The London 2012 Roadshows have the power to inspire us all to play sport, from parents with their kids to older people wanting to keep fit.’
