Former 400m champion Derek Redmond was on board the London 2012 Roadshow bus as the ten-week tour reached the Northamptonshire Youth Games.
Visitors got a chance to test their combat skills as they took part in kickboxing, judo and fencing taster sessions, as well as adding their pledges to the 2012 Challenge website posting their goals for 2012.
Local athlete Sian Edwards put a few budding sports stars through their paces in the National Lottery Dream Stats Zone as visitors assessed their sporting aptitude through a series of physical tests.
Also on-hand to offer advice and encouragement were Olympic Swimmer Ross Davenport, British schools table tennis champion Tim Yarnell and 2012 javelin hopeful Sarah Anne De Kramer.
Director of Northamptonshire Sport Vanessa Brown said: ‘It is absolutely fantastic that Northamptonshire Youth Games has been chosen as a venue for the 2012 Roadshow. This is a high profile national tour and recognises that sport in Northamptonshire is flourishing.’
