A group has been set up to ensure local people can give their views on the way the area in and around the Olympic Park site will be used after the 2012 Games.
Leaders of the London Boroughs around the Olympic Park will be part of the Olympic Park Regeneration Steering Group, advising the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) on the planning applications for the legacy of the Park, due to be submitted next year.
The group will provide views on issues including planning and developing new neighbourhoods, services and business.
Announcing the Steering Group at the State of London Debate on Saturday, ODA Chief Executive David Higgins said: "London 2012 will be a fantastic summer of sport and is the catalyst for the regeneration of a deprived part of East London.
"We want to ensure that the Boroughs are partners in this process of change so that we can realise as many benefits as possible for local people."
