London 2012 welcomed the news that Samsung has renewed its contract with the International Olympic Committee (IOC) as a TOP sponsor of the Olympic Games, taking it through to 2016.
Samsung has been the official wireless telecommunications equipment partner for the Games for the past ten years.
London 2012 Organising Committee Chair Sebastian Coe was among the guests welcoming the deal at a signing ceremony in Beijing.
Paul Deighton, Chief Executive of the London 2012 Organising Committee said: "This is a great opportunity for both Samsung and London 2012 and we look forward to working with them over the next five years or so.
"Youth-focussed digital technologies like mobile phones represent tremendous opportunities for us to communicate the power and benefits of sport to young people.
"This is a key element in our vision for a Connected Games – and working in partnership with Samsung will help us deliver this."
