British athletes claimed double gold in the London Marathon Wheelchair Race yesterday.
Paralympian David Weir retained the men's title and 20-yr-old Shelley Woods beat world record holder Francesca Porcellato by nine minutes.
Chunxiu Zhou became the first Chinese athlete to win the London Marathon, finishing the Women's Elite race in 2:20:38.
Martin Lel from Kenya won the Men's Elite race in 2:07:41, three seconds ahead of Abderrahim Goumri, with last year's champion, Felix Limo, third.
The hottest London Marathon ever saw a record number of runners and thousands of supporters lining the streets to cheer them on.
Former Olympic Gold Medallist Sally Gunnell and former Paralympic Wheelchair Basketball star Ade Adepitan were among over 36,000 athletes taking part.
