ODA seeks proposals for media centre legacy use

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has invited companies and organisations to send their proposals for using the London 2012 broadcast and press centre as a work and business space after the Games.

At Games time the International Broadcast Centre and Main Press Centre (IBC/MPC) will provide state-of-the-art facilities to 20,000 broadcasters, journalists, news agencies and photographers from the UK and around the world.

After the Games the venue will be developed into a workspace for businesses, which will provide valuable opportunities for employment and commerce in the Hackney area.

The ODA has already received several expressions of interest from companies, and is now inviting firm proposals for the legacy use of the facility.

ODA Chief Executive David Higgins said: "The ODA has a duty to build a world-class media centre for the world’s broadcasters, press and photographers.

"We are also committed to ensuring a legacy use for the centre that offers the best long-term boost to employment opportunities in Hackney."
