A group of London's most outstanding Paralympic athletes has been shortlisted for prestigious sporting awards.
The annual London Sports Awards recognise disabled people who have made an outstanding achievement over the past year in their sport.
Nominees range from 16-year-old swimmer Thomas Brown from Newham to record-breaking Paralympic wheelchair athlete David Weir.
The awards also recognise individuals and organisations which help disabled people to access sport.
Winners will be announced at a gala dinner at London’s City Hall on 8 March.
Sebastian Coe, Chairman of the London Organising Committee of the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games, said: "The London Sports Awards showcase the rich and diverse range of sporting prowess that exists among disabled Londoners.
"We at London 2012 share compatible aims of encouraging disabled young people to take up sport and I hope our Paralympic Games will be a catalyst to make this happen."
