The British Paralympic Assosication (BPA) yesterday kicked off a campaign to boost Paralympic athletes training for Games success.
The donor campaign aims to raise £1.5 million over the next six years through the generosity of individuals, charitable bodies and corporate donors.
Money raised through the fund will give Britain's Paralympic athletes the best possible support for competing in future Games, including Beijing 2008 and London 2012.
The appeal got the Royal seal of approval through a launch at St James's Palace attended by The Earl of Wessex, Patron of the British Paralympic Association.
BPA President Mike Brace said: "The money raised through this appeal will help us nurture and support our athletes so that they can put in medal-winning performances in Beijing in 2008, Vancouver in 2010 and in front of a home crowd at the London 2012 Paralympic Games."
