Progress continues apace on the Olympic Park site, with important developments in the last three months.
Yesterday the London Development Agency was given the rights to the land for the Olympic Park site, which will enable work to start on time, in July 2007. Businesses are being helped to relocate, with three new businesses parks created in the area.
Work on the site has already started. At the end of November the an important breakthrough was made in the tunnelling for underground powerlines, marking the halfway point for the process.
Last week, demolition work started in the north of the Park, at the site of the venue for London 2012 Paralympic Archery and Tennis.
Chair of the Coordination Commission Denis Oswald has praised London 2012 progress to the IOC Executive Board in Kuwait.
“London has made a lot of progress and the timelines of the project are going according to schedule,” he said.
