London 2012 Board member Jonathan Edwards has led a tour of the Olympic Park for some of the UK’s top sportspeople.

The athletes, members of the Olympic Group of the British Athletes' Commission (BAC), were taken on a tour of the Olympic Park site and briefed on the Games' progress.

Jonathan Edwards said: "Athletes are the key aspect of the Games, and it is important to keep our athletes up to speed. They are our best ambassadors."

The group of over 20 delegates included Wheelchair Rugby player Mark Fosbrook, Javelin thrower Goldie Sayers, Hockey player Lisa Wooding and Olympic Archery bronze medallist Alison Williamson.

The role of the BAC is to advise Games' planners on athletes' requirements. All Olympic and Paralympic sports are represented.
