Top 2012 team in place

Bill Morris, London 2012 Director of Culture

The London 2012 Organising Committee and Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) senior management teams have been finalised after key appointments made over the summer.

Former BBC events chief Bill Morris (pictured above) has been appointed Director of Culture, Ceremonies and Education at the London 2012 Organising Committee, responsible for events including the showpiece Opening and Closing Ceremonies.

He has helped to organise and produce key cultural events in the UK, including the Queen's Golden Jubilee celebrations, the 2004 Olympic Torch Relay Concert in London's Mall and the Live 8 concerts broadcast live across the country last year.

General Counsel Terry Miller takes up her new position in October, in charge of all legal matters for the Organising Committee.

Previously International General Counsel at Goldman Sachs, Miller was named one of the top 50 General Counsels in Europe in 2005.

The Olympic Delivery Authority has also made top appointments.

Fresh from successfully redeveloping Ascot Racecourse, Howard Shiplee is now in place as the ODA's new Director of Construction.

Simon Wright, who managed the £200m regeneration of Greenwich Peninsula, has been appointed ODA Director of Infrastructure and Utilities.

The new senior teams provide London 2012 with experience at the highest level in their respective fields.
