The London 2012 Organising Committee has appointed Martin Stewart as an independent non-executive director and Chair of its Audit Committee.
Martin Stewart is Chief Financial Officer at EMI and was previously at BSkyB for eight years.
The Audit Committee's responsibilities include monitoring finances and reviewing internal and external auditing.
Sebastian Coe, Chair of the London 2012 Organising Committee, said: "Martin brings over ten years experience of leading and running the commercial finance functions in FTSE 100 plcs.
"He will be a strong and robust independent non-executive director and Chairman of our Audit Committee and I'm delighted to welcome him to the London 2012 team."
