Olympic silver medallists Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms triumphed in an all-British final to win gold at the Badminton World Championships yesterday.
The pair beat their friends and training partners Anthony Clark and Donna Kellogg 21-15, 21-12, marking the first time an all-English team has won the event.
Nathan Robertson said afterwards: "This was one of the medals we desperately wanted.
"It was fantastic to have an all-English final, but strange and difficult to be playing the people we train against and share rooms with."
Clark later won another silver with Robert Blair in the Men's Doubles.
