British Cyclists are aiming to make their mark in the Tour of Britain, which started in Glasgow today.
2006 World Senior Championship Team Pursuit silver medallist Geraint Thomas is amongst the team members who will make the six-stage journey from Glasgow to The Mall in London.
A total of 96 riders in 16 teams are taking part in the Tour, including the World Road Race champion, Belgian Tom Boonen.
Tony Doyle from the Tour of Britain commented: "This is the strongest line up we've ever had at the Tour of Britain and we're delighted to see so many talented British riders on the start list this year.
"I think we can expect some of the bigger professional teams attempt to set the pace right from the start. Team tactics will be hugely important."
