Olympic Gold medallist Ed Coode and top swimmer James Hickman toured the Plas Menai National Watersports Centre in North Wales today as part of the 2012 Roadshow.

The athletes joined Debbie Jevans, Director of Sport for London 2012, and Jackie Brock-Doyle, Director of Communications on a tour of the outstanding facilities for a range of watersports and other activities.

Earlier in the day the Roadshow stopped at the spectacular setting of Caernarfon Castle.

The North East Wales Institute in Wrexham was the final venue for the Roadshow before it left Wales.

Jackie Brock-Doyle spoke to a business audience about the commercial opportunities that would be available in the years to come.

Arthur Emyr, Wales Director for London 2012 said: "The 2012 Roadshow has seen some of North Wales' tourism offer at its best - from the historic Caernarfon Castle to the exciting watersports activities at Plas Menai and the elite sports facilities at NEWI in Wrexham.

"Wales is well-placed to share the benefits from London 2012."

This afternoon the 2012 Roadshow heads for the next leg of its tour, in Yorkshire and Humber.
