Leader of the House of Commons Jack Straw visited the Olympic Park site today.

Mr Straw, Chair of the Cabinet Committee overseeing the London 2012 Games, was accompanied by top London 2012 staff and Olympics Minister Tessa Jowell.

They discussed the implications for the Park of the recently announced new masterplan and the legacy plans that will bring long-term benefits to the area.

Straw said: "Having the Games is fantastic. It will be a chance to show the world how great this city is."

Straw's committee brings together Ministers across government to ensure the benefits of hosting the Games are maximised and costs are controlled.
