London 2012 Ambassador Daley Thompson has been called upon to whip young British athletes into shape for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.
The double Olympic champion will visit athletics clubs across the country this summer as part of a UK Athletics scheme.
He believes his know-how will help lift British athletics, ahead of the London Games.
"Everybody realises we're struggling at the moment and the 2012 Olympics is only six years away.
"I think I can give them more self-belief and make them more professional. Most just don't set their sights high enough," he said.
Thompson will begin the training in September.
