Fifteen school and college leavers started their careers at the London Organising Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (LOCOG) with the opportunity to meet and take part in a question and answer session with the Mayor of London, Boris Johnson.

Dennis Hone was today appointed Chief Executive elect of the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA). He will replace David Higgins in February 2011, who will be leaving the ODA to take up his new post as Chief Executive of Network Rail.

Ten students from six local schools have visited their partner school in Jordan as part of London 2012’s International Inspiration programme. The programme is a key strand of the international legacy of the London 2012 Games and aims to provide high-quality physical education, sport and play opportunities to children and young people around the world.

Actors and film makers Jude Law and Jeremy Gilley joined London 2012 Cultural Olympiad Director Ruth Mackenzie at Petchey Academy secondary school in Hackney, a member of the London 2012 Get Set network, to encourage young people to make short films inspired by the theme of ‘Truce’ for the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad competition, Film Nation: Shorts.

Tonbridge School in Kent were celebrating today, as Athletics Australia signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kent County Council to stage their final training camp ahead of the games at the school.
