The first group of school leavers joined LOCOG in 2007
Targeted at 16-18 year olds, ‘Get Ahead’, will see the new recruits join the LOCOG workforce in August 2009. The successful candidates will take up placements in two different departments before taking up a permanent position.

Placements will be available across LOCOG, including the Legal, Marketing, Communications, Venues, Sport, Culture, Operations teams.

Paul Deighton, Chief Executive of LOCOG said: 'Working to help stage the London 2012 Games will undoubtedly give the successful young people an unrivalled start to their careers. We want the 2012 Games to inspire the youth of the world, so it is absolutely right that we employ young people to help us achieve this.'

'Get Ahead’ builds on a successful first round of school leaver recruitment undertaken in 2007. The scheme offers a competitive salary and the opportunity for the school leavers to achieve further qualifications that are relevant to the permanent position they take up. The positions will be based at the headquarters of the London 2012 Organising Committee in Canary Wharf, London.

Candidates should go to www.london2012.com/getahead to find out more about the scheme and the application and assessment process. There they will also be able to read about the experiences of the some of the young people already on the team.

Applications will be accepted until Sunday 12 April 2009.
