New designs of London 2012 media centre released

The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) today unveiled the designs for the International Broadcast Centre (IBC) and Main Press Centre (MPC), which will be used to bring the London 2012 Games to a worldwide audience of four billion.

Around 20,000 broadcasters, photographers and journalists will use the IBC/MPC during the Games.

Afterwards, the buildings will leave the local area with around 900,000 square feet of new business space, potentially generating thousands of new jobs.

Innovative ‘green’ elements have been worked into the designs for legacy. For example, the MPC will use recycled non-drinking water from across the Olympic Park and feature new habitats to attract wildlife, such as bird boxes.
