Primary school pupils in London filmed a special message for Vancouver students to mark one year to go to the Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Pupils from Oakdale Primary School mark one year to go to the Vancouver 2010 Winter Games
The message from Oakdale Primary School in Redbridge was played by the Province of British Columbia during their celebrations in Canada. The BC Ministry of Education supplied flags, films and mascots for pupils to help with their filming and learn more about a Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
Oakdale School will now twin with a school in Vancouver so pupils can share experiences of living in a Host City and their enthusiasm for the Games.
Before making the film, pupils met New Zealand Paralympian Tim Prendergast at a special assembly organised by London 2012. They won the opportunity by entering a Paralympic Handover competition for schools last year. One pupil, Sam, wrote a blog for the London 2012 website as part of their programme to act as 'young reporters' during the Beijing 2008 Games.
