The prestigious club, based at 2012 Archery venue Lord's, has announced a five-year partnership with Archery's governing body to help UK archers excel.

The programme includes annual training camps held at Lord's from January 2008, access to high-performance training equipment and fund-raising events.

MCC is also considering hosting international Archery events in the Lord's Ground, to provide British archers with competitive experience.

Chairman of London 2012 Seb Coe said: "This is a great package, which I'm delighted to welcome. It's a real boost for our archers' medal prospects in five years' time."
