A 16-year-old pupil from Yorkshire has won the competition to design a London 2012 Olympic Games 50p coin featuring the sport of Cycling.

Olympic Park wins award for accessible design

The Olympic Park’s ‘Inclusive Design Strategy’ was recognised for the ‘Award for Equality and Diversity’ by the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) at an awards ceremony last week.
Dame Tanni Grey-Thompson and Tony Hall have been appointed to the House of Lords as Crossbench (non-party political) peers.
London 2012 today welcomed a special visitor to east London, as Archbishop Desmond Tutu was given a tour of the Olympic Park site and expressed his belief that the London 2012 Games will inspire people across the world.
